The police chief in Samson says he plans to be back at work today.
That’s despite the Samson City Council going into executive session on Tuesday to reportedly discuss the police chief's future with the city.
Samson Police Chief Jerome Cobb’s Army reserve unit was assigned in the Middle East before he aggravated an existing injury.
He says the military has now given him the "okay" to go back to work.
Cobb has been on military leave from the city for nearly 13-months.
The chief says the federal law is clear. He must be given his position back at the same or higher pay scale.
Chief Cobb says he hopes to work out any differences with those who are opposed to him coming back to work.
