Florida Hit and Run

A 28-year-old Tampa-area elementary school dance teacher has admitted to being the driver of a car authorities believe struck four siblings in a hit-and-run accident last week.

Two of the children died.

In a news conference called by her attorney, Jennifer Porter apologized to the mother of the children.

Her lawyer says she was the driver of the Toyota Echo, which police say ran into the children crossing the street last Wednesday evening and left the scene.

Police have sought two other vehicles possibly involved in the crash.

Porter’s lawyer has declined to discuss details of the accident.

He says Porter has not yet talked to authorities and has not been charged.
