Ozark Phone Scam

Ozark Police are warning residents to beware of suspicious phone calls.

Someone is telephoning elderly residents and telling them they've won millions of dollars, but first they have to put up some of their own money to collect.

Victims have wired funds as far away as Canada and Jamaica and lost every penny.

Police say if a call sounds too good to be true, it almost always is.

Anyone who has received one of these calls should contact the nearest law enforcement agency. Investigators say the suspects are using pre-paid phone cards to make their calls more difficult to trace.
