Anthrax Scare

Police are still investigating an anthrax scare in Coffee County. The Fort Rucker HAZMAT Team responded to the scene in Kinston.

Just after 8:30 Monday night, a clerk at the Big/Little Convenience Store opened a roll of quarters, and a white, powdery substance came out. The clerk immediately contacted police, who closed down the business.

Edie Morgan is a store employee who was inside at the time. She says she doubts the substance was dangerous, but in these times, she says you can never be too careful.

Highway 52 between Samson and Opp was closed for several hours as authorities investigated the scene. There’s no word yet on what the white substance might be.
