The Geneva County Commission has voted to let the county's residents decide an emotional issue.
Former state representative Riley Seibenhener addressed the issue of hunting deer with dogs to the commission. Seibenhener, along with several large landowners said it's a problem, which is getting worse.
At this time, some two-dozen Alabama counties have "outlawed" the practice.
If nothing is done in Geneva County, the one-time lawmaker says it's a disaster waiting to happen.
Without taking a side on the issue, the commission will place the referendum item on the November ballot.
At least 60-percent of the voters must approve it before it can become law.
