Geneva Man Killed

Wiregrass authorities are still looking for who killed a Geneva man.

Around 10:30 Saturday night, emergency crews arrived on the scene of a car accident on Riverside Avenue in Geneva, where a Chevrolet Impala had gone off the road, and into a thicket of trees before stopping.

The driver apparently was already dead. He’s been identified as 24-year-old Michael Brown.

Geneva Police Chief Frankie Lindsey would not indicate how Brown died, but he says evidence indicates that he was murdered.

Brown had been arrested on Friday and later released by police on a charge of menacing.

The body has been sent to the department of forensics in Mobile for an autopsy. Investigators have questioned several people, but no arrest has been made. They’re also looking for a possible motive.

Chief Lindsey says this is the first murder in his city in nearly ten-years.
