Monkey Theft

A rare monkey is now back home in Northwest Florida and a Wiregrass man is charged with taking him.

On March 20, Curious George suddenly disappeared from the 77 Zoological Park in Northern Bay County.

George is a four-month-old Japanese a Snow Macaque, an endangered species.

Working on a tip, authorities found the animal at a Eufaula campground Wednesday night.

They arrested and charged David Brandon Corley of Brantley with grand theft.

Park employees say Corley often volunteered to work with the animals, they had no idea that he planned to steal one.
