Nearly thousands of friends and family members of Sergent Leon Sherman came to the Ozark Civic Center Tuesday to say goodbye to someone they call a great officer and family man.
49-year-old Sherman reportedly died March 13th from cancer.
“He had a lot of friends and a vast amount of contacts in law enforcement. There's just going to be a tremendous void in the department and certainly we are going to miss Leon and his work,” said Chief Tony Spivey of Ozark Police Department.
Sherman had been an officer with the Ozark Police Department since 1990.
