Prosecutors’ say a drug deal gone bad apparently led to the murder of a Dothan man.
Twenty-eight-year-old James Stuckey made his first court appearance yesterday in Abbeville. He’s charged with the weekend shooting death of Charles Hatfield.
Hatfield’s body was discovered Saturday morning in a hunting field outside Abbeville.
District Attorney Doug Valeska told Judge Charles Woodham that Stuckey and Hatfield traveled to Atlanta last week, allegedly to buy $3,000 worth of drugs. But the pair ended up getting robbed instead.
Valeska says Stuckey apparently suspected that Hatfield set him up leading to the killing.
Stuckey is still being held in the Henry County Jail under a $500,000 bond
