Flying J Truck Stop

Residents in one Dothan community are breathing a sigh of relief. That’s because the re-zoning board has decided not to re-zone an area on the circle for a Flying J Truck Stop.

The company was trying to bring a truck stop to Ross Clark Circle and South Oates Street. More than 60 residents who were against the proposal were at the meeting.

Several expressed their concerns about the traffic and unwanted disturbances the business would bring.

The Flying J project manager gave an overview of the facility, but wasn't able to persuade the board to re-zone the land from residential to commercial.

The Flying J Truck Stop manager said they aren't sure if they'll look for another location in the Circle City.
