A Crestview high school student has been charged with attempted murder after a fight in a classroom Wednesday.
According to witnesses, 14 year old Lakinzee Jamal Jones lunged at another student in a classroom.
The dispute apparently began as Jones interfered while the student was attempting to view a bumblebee through a microscope. Witnesses say Jones kept moving the specimen out of position.
The other student asked him to stop, and words were exchanged just before Jones lunged.
Jones, who weighs approximately 200 pounds, is alleged to have taken the other student to the floor with a two-handed chokehold.
He was handcuffed after struggling against two school administrators and the school resource officer. He has been turned over to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
