A Houston County man who led police on a high-speed chase made his first appearance in court.
34-year-old Daryl Keith Kirkland is charged with felony possession of marijuana.
Webb police tried to pull him over for driving under the influence Friday night. But, Kirkland refused to stop and that's when the chase began. The pursuit raced down country roads and into Henry County.
Webb police officer Tony Smith says Kirkland blew out two tires and still tried to get away. Police finally managed to force him to a stop and chased him down on foot.
The Henry County Sheriff's Department and police from Columbia and Kinsey also took part in the chase.
