Dale County deputies have a suspect in custody in the shooting death of a man in Level Plains.

According to the Dale County Coroner, 43-year-old Marcus Blackmon was shot and killed Sunday night with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police records show a call just after 8 pm saying two black men had entered the home on County Road 109.

The two men were reportedly carrying a hand gun and possibly an AK-47.

Witnesses say the men demanded to know where money and drugs were before Blackmon was shot.

The investigation is ongoing and has been turned over to the Dale County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Wally Olson says information on the suspected shooter will not be released until Tuesday.

If you have any information regarding last night's shooting, you're asked to call the Dale County Sheriff's Office at 334-774-2335.

News 4 will continue to follow this developing story.
