Child Abuse Training

Police and caseworkers normally have a hard time talking with children about abuse. They say it requires sensitivity and a special approach.

The Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center brought national expert Brad Russ to Dothan to train area investigators on how to interview young victims who've been abused.

Law enforcement officers and department of human resources workers from seven counties took part in the one-day workshop.

The center says the training is more important than ever because of statewide budget cuts.

A grant from the National Children's Alliance helped make the workshop possible.
