Cheney in Montgomery

Vice President Dick Cheney will visit Montgomery Monday afternoon to dedicate a park founded by Montgomery businessman and philanthropist Winton "Red" Blount.

Cheney will participate in the dedication of Blount Cultural Park, home of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Blount has given $22 million in land and funds for the park and theatre complex. He's a prominent republican, who once served as U.S. Postmast General.

Cheney's visit was announced after President Bush left Birmingham Monday following a fund raising luncheon for U.S. Rep. Bob Riley, the republican candidate for governor.

A park official said Cheney's visit to Montgomery will be nonpolitical.
