Driving on the streets of Ashford will soon be a lot smoother, thanks to a repaving project that began this week.
It’s the first major resurfacing project in years for the Houston County city.
Some streets haven't had a fresh layer of asphalt in decades.
Mayor Bryan Alloway says Ashford is putting up $60,000 of it's own money for the project, which should be completed by the end of the week if the weather holds out.
More work is scheduled for later this year.
