Ozark city officials’ plans to give both the mayor and themselves a pay raise.
During a special called meeting, city council members voted 3 to 2 to increase the mayor's annual salary by $8,000, bringing it to $64,000 per year.
The council also approved giving themselves a $1200 a year increase, bumping that number up to $7200 for each member.
They say Mayor Bob Bunting's current salary was too low, compared to other similar sized cities in the area.
But the raise won't go into effect until October first, the start of the new fiscal year.
