Wiregrass patients who are too sick to go home but not sick enough to stay in intensive care have a new healthcare alternative.
It’s the Long-term Care Hospital at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
The facility held its grand opening Tuesday. It’s located on the fourth floor of the medical center and will serve up to 30 patients at a time.
The facility should open around the end of this month and will employ around 60 healthcare workers.
