The bones were discovered in a wooded area near the intersection of John D. Odom Road and Whatley Drive last October. A survey crew found the remains while preparing a construction site.
Investigators sent the bones to an anthropologist for examination. But, after five months, police still don't even know if the victim is a man or a woman, much less who they are and how they died.
The bones could be sent to the FBI or a military division specially trained to identify human remains.
Meanwhile, investigators working missing persons cases as far away as Arkansas have contacted Dothan police since the bones were found.
