Bryant Sentenced To Die

A condemned killer, with a chance to avoid the death penalty, has again been sentenced to die for the same crime.

34-year-old Jerry Bryant originally got the death penalty for the 1997 shooting death of 27-year-old Donald Hollis.

But, an appellate court ordered him re-sentenced because jurors were not properly instructed in his original trial.

Bryant’s guilt was never in question and a new jury recommended the death penalty on an 11-to-2 vote in January.

The final decision was up to Judge Ed Jackson, and he again sentenced Bryant to die for the crime.
