Projected state budget cuts have law officers in Alabama’s 22nd Judicial Circuit concerned.
That particular circuit prosecuted more than 3,000 cases last year and has one of the highest conviction rates in the state.

Greg Gambril is the chief assistant district attorney in the 22nd Judicial Circuit; it includes all of Covington County. Budget cuts have already led to the loss of two part time prosecutors. Under this year's state figures, district attorney offices across Alabama will see 17-percent fewer dollars.
With less money, Gambril says it'll be even harder to prosecute a burgeoning court docket of those arrested on meth. There are no easy answers.
