TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - A Phenix City man was found dead sitting behind the wheel of his pickup truck the day after a bird hunter found a woman's body in a nearby wooded area.
Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley said 58-year-old Augustus Stevens Tucker was pronounced dead about 11 a-m Sunday. Investgiators said the G-M-C truck was parked at a state rest area.
Bentley said Tucker had a medical history of being a diabetic, and that it appeared his death was because of health complications.
Macon County Sheriff David Warren agreed saying that it appeared that Tucker died of natural causes. He said an autopsy was ordered.
Warren also said an autopsy was performed on the unidentified woman Sunday and that a toxicology screening also was ordered. The
body was found about 11:30 a-m Saturday off county road 57. Bentley
estimates she died several days.
