Several Coffee County residents have been left with very little water. The problem stems from the four-laning of Highway 84.
A Dothan contractor was ordered to place the water pipe nine feet deeper into the ground and it seems crews pierced the underground water table.
Workers are now digging and pumping out the groundwater in order to place the lines at the required depth.
City Water Works Director Kenneth Fox, says it's not a major problem but, it's leaving about a hundred households, mainly in the Damascus Community, with very little water pressure.
Crews are working around the clock trying to get the water pipe back in the ground. Once that happens, water pressure can be restored.
Officials say they hope water can be restored to full pressure by Sunday, or Monday at the latest.
