A teenager is behind bars after confessing to murdering his mom. The murder took place in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but the overly bizarre confession happened inside a Leeds, Alabama Radio Shack Store.
Witnesses say 19-year-old Douglas Matthew Beddingfield walked into the North Alabama business and asked a sales clerk to call local police.
Beddingfield would not tell employees why he needed to speak to authorities, but when Leeds' Police arrived, the suspect allegedly confessed to shooting his mom in the head yesterday morning.
South Carolina authorities confirmed that they went the boy's home and found a woman, believed to be his mom, Betty Beddingfield, who had been fatally shot.
The younger Beddingfield has been charged with murder.
He is now inside a Saint Claire, Alabama jail awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
