HealthSouth

Prosecutors have objected to Richard Scrushy's request for information about the grand jurors who indicted him on fraud charges -- claiming the fired HealthSouth CEO is on a "fishing expedition."

In documents made public Tuesday -- the government rejected defense claims that Scrushy needs the names and addresses of grand jurors to see if they were somehow linked with HealthSouth.

Scrushy -- accused of leading a huge fraud at HealthSouth -- contends grand jurors could have been prejudiced against him because he was the prominent leader of a company that employs thousands locally.

But prosecutors say they had asked questions to weed out such people -- and they say Scrushy had done nothing to show that anyone
was biased against him.

The government says Scrushy's attorneys are seeking information
about grand jurors that is barred by past rulings.
