Shelby Funding

Federal lawmakers have OK'd $428 million in funding for several Fort Rucker defense programs. New helicopters and simulator equipment top the list of items approved by the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee.

$9.6 million is earmarked for buying six TH-67 Training Helicopters, $249 million will be used to buy more UH-60 Blackhawks, $159 million is approved for modifications to the Apache Longbow Helicopters and $10 million will go toward equipment needed in the Aviation Institutional Training Simulator Program.
