In Rome, Georgia, jury selection is underway in the first trial against Ray Brent Marsh.
He’s the crematory operator accused of dumping the bodies of 334 corpses---instead of cremating the remains like he was supposed to.
The lawsuit claims Marsh took concrete dust and other material, and pretended it was the cremated remains of his clients.
The suit involves 1600 former clients who accuse Marsh of negligence and fraud.
The lawsuit also targets Marsh's relatives who worked at the crematory, as well as 12 funeral homes that sent corpses to the crematory.
Marsh also faces 787 criminal charges, but no trial date has been set for his criminal case.
