The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department is asking for help in solving the murder of a 19-month-old child in Crestview.
Tonya Mays called authorities after she checked on her sleeping daughter, Kayla and discovered she was not breathing. There were no apparent injuries to the young girl but when an autopsy was performed it revealed serious internal injuries to the child's head.
The death has been ruled a homicide and authorities are asking anyone with information concerning young Kayla Mays to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department or Emerald Coast CrimeStoppers at 850-863-TIPS (8477).
