What's the future of a small, rural health care facility in Northwest Florida? That question came up during a Campbellton-Graceville Hospital Board of Trustees Meeting.
Area residents packed in for the meeting. Several asked why there was a continuous turnover of physicians at the hospital. One former patient said she frequently encountered new faces in the Emergency Room.
In addition, the financial reports show Campbellton-Graceville hospital has been losing money. But, it was pointed out that's not unusual for small facilities in low-economic regions of the country.
Board Chairman Tony Wesley says it's up to the community to help support the hospital. In addition, the board unanimously voted to pursue legal action against a former health care provider that didn't pay on employee health insurance claims. That total debt is reportedly around $225,000.
