A father and son accused in a major embezzlement scheme pled guilty in Houston County Circuit Court. Robert Chestnut senior faces 20 years in prison for two counts of theft by deception. Robert Chestnut, Jr. pled guilty to one count of theft and could get five years behind bars.
Prosecutors contend the pair used labor and materials from the company that employed them on their personal construction projects. The Chestnuts must also repay $700,000 in restitution to their victim.
Sentencing is set for April 20th. The Chestnuts will remain free on bond until that time.
