Super Bowl "Malfunction"

Super Bowl Malfunction

The disrobing of pop singer Janet Jackson during the Super Bowl halftime show seen around the world continues to draw criticism, including viewers in Alabama.

Democratic state Senator Larry Means of Attalla is so upset about the incident that he's looking to amend his own proposed legislation.

Means said the legislation would prevent television stations in Alabama from broadcasting obscene and indecent material to include partial nudity.

While broadcast regulation is typically handled on the federal level, Means says it's also a local issue. He said even if his bill does not become law -- he wants something done to keep similar incidents or a profanity-laced tirade at a recent awards show from reaching the ears and eyes of children.
