Shots Fired

Authorities are still looking for the person responsible for firing shots at Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward's home.

Someone "opened-up" fire on the sheriff's Hartford home around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning. Ward says two shots were fired, apparently from different weapons in separate locations.

The sheriff's patrol car, his personal vehicle and the vinyl siding of his home were "peppered" with pellets, but neither Ward nor his family was injured.

The sheriff says the incident may be only being random act of vandalism or someone trying to send him a message.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.

If you have any information on who may have fired the shots, you are encouraged to call the Geneva County Sheriff's Office at (334) 983-5614 or (334) 684-5660.
