PARRISH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in Florida say a 13-year-old boy abducted at gunpoint Friday was kidnapped for ransom.
Clay Moore was kidnapped while waiting for a school bus Friday morning. He escaped hours later with just scratches and scrapes.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, who remains at large. He's identified as Vicente Ignacio Beltran Marina.
Manatee County Sheriff Charlie Wells says a search of the suspect's home early today turned up a ransom note and the red pickup truck believed to have been used in the abduction.
Investigators say the man ordered the boy into a pickup truck, bound him and left him in a wooded area about 20 miles away. They say the boy freed himself using a safety pin and his teeth. He walked until he found a farm worker with a cell phone.
The sheriff says the boy provided investigators with valuable clues.
