Coffee County Cleanup

Abandoned Car

The ordinance has to do with abandoned vehicles and run-down houses. New Brockton authorities want some residents to clean up their property.

Also old refrigerators, air conditioners and stoves that are left outside, officials say children can get trapped in the appliances.

Residents will also be required to properly display their E-911 address on their home.

Police Chief Boyd Hartzog says residents will either comply or face prosecution that can involve fines and court costs, in addition to jail time.
