Alex Harrell and Dr. Daniel White were out scouting ducks on Lake Seminole when they noticed an alligator chasing after their boat.
The two men called a friend, who had a hunting permit from the department of natural resources.
It took the group over three hours to catch the alligator.
The male alligator was measured 13ft., ten and three-quarter inches and weighed 620 pounds.
According to the DNR, the gator beat the previous record of being the largest alligator around, beating out the previous record of 13ft nine inches long.
The DNR representative who came to measure the alligator told me it was the largest he had ever validated.
