The Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging, which provides services to the elderly, is seeking Houston County’s help to move its offices.
The government agency will be moving from its current location on South Oates Street to a larger building on Brannon Stand Road.
Commissioners will vote Monday on whether to do site work on the new parking lot.
“We desperately need more space,” said SARCOA Director Robert Crowder. “We're about ready to have our plans done and we're requesting the site work be done by the county.”
Construction on the new facility will be completed next year.
SARCOA serves the seniors of Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties.
