A cold front packing strong winds, heavy rain and lightning barreled through southwest Alabama this morning causing multiple car accidents, minor flooding and downed trees and powerlines.
In Baldwin County, state troopers responded to a five-car accident on U.S. Highway 98 in the Lillian community around 7 a.m. Officials there also reported some minor street flooding in eastern Baldwin County.
In Mobile, police officers were busy responding to over a dozen wrecks on the city's wet and slick streets. Malfunctioning traffic lights also kept officers busy directing traffic at key intersections.
