A dangerous combination of fireworks and high winds lead to an out of control fire in the Wiregrass.
Fire officials say high winds and kids playing with fireworks led to a fire that nearly consumed several dozen homes in Cowarts.
Authorities say the children launched a bottle rocket, starting a small grass fire that spread to 25 acres due to wind gusts of 50 miles per hour.
Thirty firefighters from Ashford, Webb and Hodgesville Fire Departments spent more than two and a half hours attempting to put out the blaze.
No one was injured during the ordeal.
