Houston County Administrator Replacement

Houston County leaders met to figure out who'll be the next person for one of their top jobs.

Last month, Houston County Administrator Roy Roberts announced he's retiring after 12-years in the position.

With Roberts' input, commissioners discussed the salary, benefits and requirements for the person who'll replace Roberts.

“We'd like nothing more than to hire someone local that is tied to Houston County. But we're pretty open. We're going to accept, then look at all applications, and then narrow them down,” said Mark Culver of the Houston County Commission.

The commission will begin advertising the position in September.
