Frito-Lay Recall

Frito-Lay is recalling bags of corn chips sold in Alabama.

The company says some barbecue-flavored chips in a shipment of Fritos Original Flavored Corn Chips could cause an allergic reaction in some people.

Of the 8,600 bags, about 1,100 were marked as Fritos Original that actually contain barbecue flavoring. The company says people allergic to soy can develop a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the flavoring.

The company said the two-ounce bags involved in the recall were distributed in Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, southern Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Most of the bags were sold in vending machines.

They have a freshness date of Sept. 10. The code under that date is 5-3-4-2 1-8-6 2-9-3.

For more information, contact Frito-Lay at (800) 352-4477.
