The Wiregrass Museum of Art is getting a much needed parking lot. For years museum visitors have been parking in a gravel lot.
Now with help of grant money, the museum is pouring concrete and getting lighting to make the landscaping more appealing.
The Wiregrass foundation awarded the museum $100,000 for the project, the city gave $18,000 and the museum is picking up the remaining $25,000 tab.
“The parking lot is an exciting addition. It will provide safety measure for the school busses with children from the community and it will make is a safe area for seniors to load and unload,” said Deidre Frith of Wiregrass Museum of Art.
The parking lot is expected to be completed by late April.
