A suspect in the death of a Troy State University student is scheduled to stand trial next month.
Twenty-one-year-old Jonathan Rumph was charged with the murder of 17-year-old Brandi Hobson in September of 2001.
Hobson was found unconscious by her parents in her TSU dorm room and later pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy report listed the cause of death as strangulation with blunt force injury.
Investigators say Rumph knew the victim but he was not a student at Troy State.
Jury selection for his trial is set to begin Feb. 23 at the Pike County Courthouse.
Rumph faces from 10 years to life behind bars if he's convicted. Right now, he is free on bond.
