A man accused of shooting another person during a teenager's birthday party has turned himself in.
Dothan police say 50-year-old Michael Dover was arrested early Sunday morning after admitting he shot another person in the leg.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night on east Newton Street.
Investigators say witnesses saw Dover drive by the birthday party and then getting into an altercation that ended in gunfire.
The victim was shot in the lower leg, but police say his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Dover is being held at the Dothan city jail and is charged with assault first degree.
