Tens-of-thousands of Florida public students took part in that state's annual tornado drill Wednesday.
The drill took on added significance at Bonifay Elementary School.
Two years-ago, a twister barely missed the K-4 grade facility, but it did cause extensive damage to several nearby homes.
School principal, Rodd Jones, says the faculty and students take the drill very seriously, with hopes of becoming quicker in the duck and cover safety technique:
“A tornado jumped over the school and hit on both sides. Our kids’ safety is first on the list. We go through and learn more and everything," said Jones
In all, more than 700 Bonifay Elementary School students and their teachers took part in the tornado drill.
