A Wiregrass native, who moved away, did well, retired and moved back to Dothan, did not like what he saw in his old neighborhood.

Now he is busy making some major changes.

Ed Vaughn recently retired from the Michigan House of Representatives. He and his family have purchased all four corners of the Adams and Range Street intersection for a new residential development.

Ground was broken Friday morning for the first seven of 24 new town homes.

The historic district includes the area around Newton, Burdeshaw, Cherry, Adams and Range streets.

Vaughn said the current project will be completed this fall and is just the beginning of many great improvements to the area.
