Dale County Health officials say two raccoons have tested positive for rabies over the past few days.
The first animal was killed by dogs in a resident's yard near Highway 231 and Dale County Road 63 on Friday.
The second raccoon was killed by dogs Monday in the yard of a home on County Road 11 near Ariton.
There were no known human exposures to the rabid animals.
But health officials are urging residents to get their pets' rabies vaccinations up to date and to warn children to avoid wild or stray animals.
