BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - More bad weather in central Florida Tuesday, but nothing like recent tornadoes that killed a score of people.
This time it was thunderstorms in Polk County where strong winds toppled trees and shattered windows.
No injuries were reported.
Winds were clocked at 55 to 60 miles per hour on the leading edge of the storms. The National Weather Service says people called in with reports of tornadoes, but nothing confirmed yet.
Residents in Lake County, about 80 miles north of Bartow, are still recovering from February Second storms that spawned tornadoes and killed 20.
