MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Hamilton-Crossroads community is
getting a 200,000 dollar grant - courtesy of Governor Bob Riley. The Pike County town was hit by a tornado last November.
The grant, according to Riley, will be used to build a new elevated 300,000 gallon water tank. The original water tank was toppled by the twister on November 15th.
The Pike County Water Authority has been diverting water from two wells to meet the town's needs. But two local manufacturing companies have been unable to reach production quotas due to low
The grant was made available through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Insurance funds will provide additional money for the water tank.
