Walton County deputies were responding to a shooting Thursday afternoon when they spotted 24-year-old Trevor Woods of De Funiak Springs leaving the scene carrying a shotgun.
At first, Woods refused deputies orders to drop the weapon, but complied after the fourth warning.
Woods is being held in the Walton County Jail without bond.
The victim of the shooting, W. A. Howell of DeFuniak Springs was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he is in stable condition.
Howell suffered a single gunshot to the back from a 12-gauge shotgun.
