HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Cattlemen's Association annual convention and trade show opens Friday at Huntsville's Von Braun Center.

Experts in the cattle industry will discuss issues facing cattlemen trying to profit in a shifting market.

Among the scheduled speakers, Randy Blach, an expert on cattle numbers and beef demand, will talk about the impact of ethanol production on this year's cattle and corn prices.

Governor Bob Riley is scheduled to speak at a Saturday luncheon where other state constitutional officers, academic and agribusiness leaders will be recognized.

The convention is open to anyone interested in producing cattle.

Over 65 exhibitors will participate in the trade show.
